Engineering Technician

About the Position: You will provide Engineering Technician services in support of the United States Army Garrison, Directorate of Public Works (DPW) at West Point, New York. The Directorate is responsible for the management and oversight of all activities related to maintaining 16,000 acres of property, buildings, and roadways.

Specialized Experience:

External Applicants: One year of specialized experience which includes:1) Planning projects related to the construction, maintenance, and/or repair of facilities; and 2) Reviewing construction project proposals and/or plans. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).

Current Federal Employees: One year of specialized experience which includes:1) Assisting with planning projects related to the construction, maintenance, and/or repair of facilities; 2) Assisting in the preparation of administrative documents; and 3) reviewing construction project proposals and/or plans. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Time in Grade Requirement: (External Applicants) Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-10).

Time in Grade Requirement: (Current Federal Employees) Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the second lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
