Essential Responsibilities
- Artistic Execution: Use frosting, fondant, and sugar products to create visually stunning, high-end custom cakes and standard desserts.
- Structural Integrity: Master the stacking and leveling of multi-tiered cakes, ensuring every creation is as stable as it is beautiful.
- Sculpting & Detail: Design and hand-craft 3D sculptures and intricate decorations that meet our exact brand standards.
- Precision Decorating: Apply expert-level frosting techniques to butter cookies and frost custom cakes/cupcakes with flawless consistency.
- The Blueprint: Follow established design processes and decorative styles exactly as shown, ensuring a consistent look for every client.
- Efficiency: Work with a strong sense of urgency to meet delivery deadlines in a high-volume environment.
- Kitchen Stewardship: Maintain an organized, clean, and professional decorating station.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional decorating experience in a high-volume bakery (required).
- Portfolio: Candidates should be prepared to showcase a portfolio of past work (specifically fondant and frosting techniques).
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Artistic Skills: Advanced proficiency in fondant work, color mixing, piping, and sugar artistry.
- Meticulous Attention to Detail: You have a "perfectionist" streak when it comes to straight lines, smooth finishes, and color matching.
- Methodical Problem Solving: You can look at a complex design and logically determine the best way to build it.
- Collaborative Spirit: You maintain positive, productive relationships with the baking and front-of-house teams.
- Stamina: Requires long hours on your feet, bending, and the ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs (especially when moving large tiered cakes).
- Visual Precision: Excellent color vision and depth perception are required for intricate decorating tasks.
- Environment: Climate-controlled studio with occasional exposure to our 0-degree walk-in (gear provided).
