Our dealership will soon be getting remodeled to create a state-of-the-art Service Department. We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Automotive Parts Manager to oversee our parts department, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional customer service. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the automotive parts department, including inventory control, order management, and customer service functions.
- Manage supply chain activities by sourcing OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts, negotiating pricing, and maintaining supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of quality parts.
- Oversee warehouse operations, including shipping & receiving, storage organization, forklift operation, and equipment repair to maximize efficiency and safety.
- Utilize ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and specialized order management software to track inventory levels, process purchase orders, and manage procurement workflows.
- Coordinate demand planning and forecasting to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing excess inventory through effective inventory management strategies.
- Implement and monitor CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for equipment maintenance schedules and repair tracking.
- Ensure compliance with automotive diagnostics standards and support automotive service teams with technical knowledge when needed.
- Develop and enforce procedures for inventory control, pricing strategies, and logistics to streamline operations across the supply chain.
- Foster strong relationships with dealerships, OEM suppliers, and logistics providers to enhance sourcing options and improve overall procurement processes.
- Maintain meticulous data entry records for all transactions, shipments, repairs, and inventory adjustments to ensure accuracy in reporting.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries promptly and resolving issues efficiently.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse management practices such as HVAC system maintenance or shipping & receiving processes to enhance operational safety and efficiency.
Skills
- Extensive experience in supply chain management within the automotive parts industry.
- Proven ability in supplier management, negotiation, and sourcing OEM parts effectively.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to automotive diagnostics, repair processes, and equipment maintenance.
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as AS400 or similar platforms; familiarity with order management systems is highly desirable.
- Expertise in inventory management techniques including demand planning, inventory control, purchasing, and warehouse experience.
- Skilled in logistics coordination including shipping & receiving procedures; forklift certification is preferred.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to automotive parts production or assembly is a plus.
- Ability to operate or oversee equipment repair activities; familiarity with CMMS tools is advantageous.
- Excellent data entry skills coupled with attention to detail for recordkeeping accuracy.
- Strong customer service orientation with effective communication skills for dealing with dealerships or end-users.
- Experience working within dealership environments or auto body repair shops is beneficial.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems or other facility maintenance practices that support warehouse operations is a plus.
