What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Design Intern position at Fresh Tape Media?
Fresh Tape Media is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Production Design intern to join our growing Denver-based team. Our production company works with brands, sports properties and media companies to produce unique made-for-social video content. From car-wash style productions with simple sets to fully custom builds, we help brands get more engagement and widen their audience by creating entertaining content that people actually want to see and share.
Throughout the course of this internship you will assist with a wide array of needs across the production team - focused mostly on production design, but willing and able to help across our broad set of offerings. An eye for design/interior design/events/production is ideal and most importantly, an attitude of always willing to step in to help.
Responsibilities include:
Research & Concept Development
- Assist in gathering visual references, mood boards, and inspiration for set designs.
- Crafting and testing set materials to test for feasibility of product or process
Set Design & Planning
- Help create sketches, floor plans, and basic 3D models using design software (Adobe Suite/SketchUp/ Vray is preferred).
- Assist in preparing design presentations for clients
- Organize and maintain production design documentation
Prop & Material Sourcing
- Assist in sourcing props, set decorations, and construction materials.
- Coordinate with rental houses and vendors for quotes and availability.
- Help maintain an inventory list of purchased and rented items.
- Help coordinate deliveries and pickups for set materials.
On-Set Responsibilities
- Support the production design/fabrication team in assembling and decorating sets.
- Assist with prop placement and styling to match the production’s aesthetic.
- Assisting with striking sets and post-production plan for set elements
Basic Qualifications:
- Proficient understanding of Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup and rendering software
- Strong conceptual skills and foundational knowledge building a 3D space
- Strong time management skills and attention to detail
- Ability to stay organized with several projects happening at once
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks within identified timeframes
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and problem-solving abilities
Job Type: Internship; 5 days/week
Pay: $20/hour
Work Location: Denver, Colorado
