Description
We’re looking for someone who takes real pride in their work and enjoys being part of a high-quality manufacturing environment. In this role, you’ll work hands-on with our fiberglass components—grinding, sanding, cleaning, and polishing parts to correct imperfections and prepare them for finishing. You’ll drill precise holes in molded decks, hulls, and small parts, carefully measure and mark components to meet quality standards, verify finished parts for accuracy, and work safely with equipment, chemicals, worktables, and both hand and power tools as you support the production process.
Key Responsibilities:
• Cutting fiberglass boats once they’re removed from the mold
• Grinding and sanding bonding surfaces to smooth cut edges
• Trimming flanges and cutting out hatches
• Leveling and preparing bulkheads for assembly
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to use power tools, hand tools, and a tape measure
• Ability to work in a fiberglass-dust environment that is fast-paced and noisy
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, employees are frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level can be loud.
Physical Requirements:
• Use of required PPE, including eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, protective suits, dust masks, and respirators
• Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
• Frequent lifting/moving up to 15 lbs and occasional lifting/moving up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work a 10-hour shift or more in a workday, including planned and unplanned overtime
• Ability to work cautiously but efficiently in potentially hazardous conditions
