Senior Accountant needed!!
We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant with deep expertise in multi-jurisdictional tax compliance to join our growing finance team. In this role, you will own the full tax accounting cycle — from VAT and sales tax filings to income tax provisions and financial statement preparation — while serving as a subject matter expert across the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Prepare, review, and file value-added tax (VAT) returns across applicable jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy and on-time submission
- Manage end-to-end sales and use tax compliance, including nexus analysis, rate updates, and multi-state filings
- Calculate and maintain income tax provisions (current and deferred) in accordance with ASC 740
- Support preparation of federal, state, and local income tax returns in coordination with external tax advisors
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess the impact on the organization’s compliance obligations
Account Reconciliation & General Ledger
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end reconciliations of all tax-related balance sheet accounts, including:
- Sales tax payable and VAT payable/receivable accounts
- Deferred tax assets and liabilities
- Income tax payable and estimated tax prepayments
- Investigate and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner; escalate material variances to management
- Maintain organized workpapers and supporting documentation for all tax accounts
- Financial Statement Preparation
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Prepare and review tax-related disclosures for financial statement footnotes
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all tax entries are recorded accurately and on schedule
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audit, providing tax workpapers and responding to inquiries
Cross-Functional Support
- Serve as internal resource for tax-related questions from finance, operations, and business development teams
- Partner with AP/AR teams to ensure proper tax treatment on vendor invoices and customer billing
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and auditability of the tax function
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience with significant focus on tax compliance
- Hands-on experience with VAT, sales & use tax, and income tax provisions
- Proficiency in account reconciliations and month-end/year-end close processes
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and ASC 740
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling)
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
Salary : $100,000 - $120,000
