Job Description Summary:
A leading law firm is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Learning and Development Specialist to support firmwide training initiatives for both legal and business professionals. This role will help advance professional development goals by creating engaging content, co-designing learning experiences, and supporting integration and onboarding initiatives. Reporting to both the Employee Talent Development Manager and Legal Training and Development Director, the Specialist will collaborate cross-functionally to address learning needs across various roles and departments.
This position offers a hybrid work arrangement and can be based in multiple U.S. office locations. The frequency of in-office work will be determined by business needs and departmental directives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with training and development teams to build learning initiatives and create training materials for business professionals and attorneys.
- Design and develop learning content and programs, including live workshops, eLearning modules, toolkits, onboarding materials, and development guides.
- Manage projects, apply instructional design principles, and conduct pre- and post-program evaluations.
- Analyze feedback and learning data to assess effectiveness and drive improvements.
- Build relationships with subject matter experts and internal partners to align learning with business priorities.
- Stay current on best practices in learning design and adult learning theory.
- Support learning paths for leaders and individual contributors.
- Assist with CLE programs, including reviewing materials, tracking attendance, and maintaining records.
- Support internal communications related to learning opportunities and resources.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience designing, developing, and evaluating training programs and learning materials.
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and learning technologies (e.g., LMS platforms, Articulate, Rise, or other authoring tools).
- Knowledge of CLE program requirements is a plus.
- 3–5 years of experience in a learning and development role in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Compensation Range:
$84,000 – $120,000
