Position Summary
Franklin General Hospital Business Office has a rare opportunity available! We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Clerk to join our team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work in a friendly, upbeat office environment while enjoying a schedule that keeps your evenings, weekends, and holidays free.
The Insurance Clerk is responsible for pursuing the billing and investigation of insurance claims, assisting with insurance-related processes, and supporting the overall success of the Business Office. This role is ideal for an individual who enjoys problem-solving, working with computers, working independently and also collaboratively with the Business Office team and providing professional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Pursue and follow up on unpaid insurance claims
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and reimbursements
- Review accounts for accuracy and identify billing issues
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Utilize computer systems and software to manage claim activity
- Collecting insurance payments from patients
- Provide professional telephone communication with insurance representatives and patients as needed
- Assist with a variety of Business Office functions and special projects
- Support team goals and departmental operations
Qualifications
- Strong computer skills required
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Professional telephone and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Healthcare or insurance billing experience preferred
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Schedule
- Full-Time: 36 hours per week
- Four 9 hour days. Ask about the hours worked. We can adjust slightly to accomodate your life w kids, etc.
- Daytime hours
- No evenings
- No weekends
- No holidays
