Social Studies Teacher

Position: Middle School Teacher - Social StudiesPosition Type: Full TimeLocation: Franklin Middle SchoolReports to: Building Principal and Department HeadSalary: As per FEA Teacher ContractThis position qualifies for town benefits, including Health Insurance General Description:Provide instructional guidance and support to teachers and students in a learning environment that will enable students to master the concepts and skills appropriate to age, grade level, and individual capacity. Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate subject matter/instructional model knowledge
• Demonstrate effective student engagement strategies
• Develop inclusive classroom routines and practices
• Contribute to the development of course scope and sequence
• Design instruction that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of all students
• Remain informed of/apply research and trends in content and teaching
• Use data to inform instruction
• Provide students with regular feedback
• Collaborate with colleagues to examine data and plan curriculum and instruction to ensure equitable learning experiences
• Other related duties as assigned by building administrators

Qualifications Required:

• Appropriate licensure from the Department of Secondary and Elementary Education
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work cooperatively with students, staff, and administrators
• Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and dependability
• Previous classroom or special education teacher experience preferred

• Must successfully pass Criminal Offender (CORI) background check and national fingerprinting screening (CHRI).
