Position: Career Pathways Program CoordinatorPosition Type: Full TimeLocation: Franklin High SchoolReports to: Building PrincipalSalary: As per FEA Teacher ContractThis position qualifies for town benefits, including Health Insurance General Description:The ideal candidate for the Career Pathways Program Coordinator position will lead Franklin High Schools career exploration and preparation programming, and support students in making educational, occupational, and future plans by helping them explore career pathways, build job readiness skills, and connect with real-world opportunities in the local community General Responsibilities:
- Guide students through the process of exploring career interests and options that align with their strengths, values, and future goals.
- Lead workshops and small group sessions on job search strategies, resume writing, interview preparation, and professional communication.
- Maintain a Google Classroom page with information on topics such as career exploration, skill-building, and local job and internship postings.
- Develop and implement career planning activities and support post-secondary planning efforts, including both college and workforce pathways.
- Organize guest speaker events, panels, and career talks featuring professionals from diverse industries to expose students to real-world career paths.
- Collaborate with school counselors, teachers, and local employers to create hands-on learning and work-based learning opportunities.
- Assist students in finding part-time jobs, internships, and volunteer opportunities in the local community.
- Help students utilize digital tools such as Naviance to explore career options and plan accordingly.
- Support the implementation of Massachusetts MyCAP (My Career and Academic Plan) initiatives as part of the schools college and career readiness efforts.
- Oversee the Early Enrollment/Dual Enrollment Program.
- Assist the Guidance Director with school-wide assessments as needed.
- Examine school-wide assessment and performance data.
- Maintain a reduced student caseload.
- Develop and instruct a course related to career exploration and preparation programming, as needed.
- Other related duties as assigned by the principal.
- Identifying and recruiting eligible students, with a focus on equitable access.
- Providing individualized academic and career advising throughout students' progression in the pathway.
- Ensuring students are enrolled in appropriate pathway courses.
- Coordinating with staff and administrators to align course sequences.
- Developing and maintaining job shadowing, internship, volunteer, and other WBL opportunities.
- Maintaining a student job board and cultivating relationships with local businesses and organizations.
- Conducting student interviews and assisting in placement matching.
- Tracking Pathway students progress in Aspen and Naviance.
- Assisting with documentation and reporting for DESE designation and annual review.
- Leading family and student information sessions.
- Serving as liaison to colleges, workforce partners, and local employers.
- Gathering and incorporating feedback from students and stakeholders.
- Supporting the High School Leadership Teams goals for innovation, equity, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinating early/dual enrollment, capstone, and internship schedules with external partners.
- Aligning experiences to pathway student learning outcomes and integrating them into MyCAP and Naviance.
- Developing and managing a tracking system to monitor program effectiveness and student outcomes.
- Analyzing student academic and employment data and making recommendations to improve performance.
- Participating in statewide ICP events and learning opportunities.
- Hosting informational meetings to review requirements and expectations for the senior class participants throughout the school year.Managing the application and acceptance process to determine students eligibility.
- Monitoring students progress in goal setting and completion of program expectations.
- Facilitating the internship placement process for all students.
- Communicating regularly with students, families, and staff regarding program requirements, student progress, and expectations for the working phase and final presentations.
- Planning the final culminating senior project presentation.
- Connecting with community members who host Senior Project interns.
- Performing other duties as necessary to support the successful completion of the Senior Project program each year.
- Minimal Bachelors Degree
- Appropriate DESE Licensure is preferred
- Previous work related to a secondary school setting
- Experience collaborating with post-secondary institutions, training programs, and local businesses.
- Proficiency in Naviance, MyCAP, and/or related student platforms
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, educators, and external partners
- Must successfully pass Criminal Offender (CORI) background check and national fingerprinting screening (CHRI)
