What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Software Engineer position at Franklin Fitch?
Senior Technical Lead | Atlanta, GA | Hybrid | $130K - $165K
A well-established technology company with a global enterprise client base is hiring a Senior Technical Lead to join their Atlanta engineering team. This is a hands-on technical leadership role, not a people management position. You'll lead through depth, delivery, and credibility rather than headcount.
The company builds and operates a complex, data-intensive SaaS platform used by large enterprise clients across 50 countries. The engineering organisation is mature but moving fast, with real investment in cloud infrastructure, tooling, and AI-assisted development. Senior engineers here have genuine ownership over how the product is built and how the team operates.
What the role involves:
Hands-on technical leadership that keeps complex software moving without sacrificing quality.
On the platform side, that means writing and reviewing production code across backend and frontend services, driving CI/CD health, guiding refactoring efforts, and acting as a technical anchor for one or more product areas. On the solutions side, it means owning the technical execution of large-scale enterprise deployments from planning through go-live, leading solution design and integration planning, and serving as the escalation point when things get complicated.
You'll be working closely with Product, QA, and DevOps, mentoring engineers through design and code review, and making sure the team is shipping reliably and to a high standard. AI-assisted development is genuinely embedded in how this team works, so hands-on experience with tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar is valued.
What they're looking for:
- 7 years of professional software engineering experience in modern SaaS environments
- Strong hands-on coding ability, with a track record of improving code quality and delivery outcomes at scale
- Solid understanding of cloud-native and distributed system architecture
- Experience with CI/CD, agile delivery, and cross-functional collaboration with Product, QA, and DevOps
- For solutions-leaning candidates: proven experience with enterprise system integrations or large-scale customer implementations
- Stack: Angular, TypeScript, C#/.NET Core, Node.js, Azure, SQL Server, Cosmos DB, Databricks, Docker, Kubernetes
- Familiarity with SonarQube, Playwright, Testim, Azure Monitor, or Power BI is a plus
- Strong communicator who can translate technical complexity clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences
The details:
Hybrid role, two days per week in the Atlanta office. Must be Atlanta-based. No immigration sponsorship available.
Salary : $140,000 - $165,000
