Lead Network Administrator
Location: Marlborough, MA, Lyman, SC, or Louiseville, Kentucky — fully on-site
Compensation: $112,000–$145,000 5% bonus benefits
We’re partnered with a rapidly growing global power generation and energy services business that is looking for an experienced Network Administrator to join a small IT team. This is a senior, hands-on technical role with light leadership responsibilities, acting as the go-to expert for network-related issues while also mentoring junior team members.
The Role
This role sits at the centre of network and systems support, acting as the main escalation point for complex infrastructure issues while helping keep systems stable across multiple global offices.
You’ll work closely with a small (36 employees total) IT team and take ownership across networking, systems administration, and core infrastructure reliability. The position is around 60% networking and 40% systems/infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the lead network resource and escalation point for complex issues.
- Support and mentor junior team members within the network function.
- Maintain and improve infrastructure across multiple global offices.
- Manage environments including VMware, Nutanix, firewalls, SD-WAN, switching, and Azure.
- Work closely with IT colleagues in a small global team.
Candidate Profile
- Around 10 years of systems administration experience.
- At least 3 years of networking experience.
- Strong Windows Server and Active Directory background ideally.
- Experience supporting larger environments, ideally 1000 endpoints.
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on, senior technical capacity.
Preferred Skills
- CCNA or equivalent networking knowledge.
- Experience with Fortinet, Juniper, or Cisco.
- Azure certifications.
- Virtualisation certifications.
- Business continuity planning experience.
- CISSP is a plus.
