Staff Agentic AI Engineer | Remote (Only Atlanta-based candidates) | $200K - $250K

We’re partnered with a fast-scaling AI startup building production-grade agentic systems that go beyond chat - systems that make decisions, call tools, and execute real workflows in live environments.

This is a high-impact role for engineers who have actually shipped LLM-powered systems. You’ll sit at the intersection of backend and applied AI, turning cutting-edge capabilities into reliable, customer-facing products. You won’t be building demos: you’ll be defining how autonomous systems behave in the real world, under real constraints, with real consequences. The problems here are hard, messy, and unsolved - and that’s exactly the point.

What you’ll do:

• Build and scale backend systems for agent-based workflows
• Design orchestration layers for multi-step reasoning, tool calling, and execution
• Develop stateful, reliable agent systems that operate in production
• Integrate LLMs with APIs, databases, and real-world systems
• Handle latency, cost, failures, and reliability challenges
• Own systems end-to-end—from design to deployment and iteration

What they’re looking for:

• 7 years backend engineering experience (strong Python)
• Proven experience shipping LLM or agent-based systems in production
• Hands-on with multi-step workflows, tool calling, and orchestration
• Strong understanding of LLM vs deterministic logic boundaries
• Experience solving real production issues (hallucinations, scale, cost)
• Ability to clearly explain systems you’ve built end-to-end

Nice to have:

• Experience with multi-agent systems or orchestration frameworks
• Familiarity with OpenAI, Anthropic, or cloud LLM platforms
• RAG, vector databases, and retrieval systems
• Distributed systems or platform engineering background
