SUMMARY
The Director of Data Governance oversees the implementation and operational management of the organization’s data governance program. This role ensures that data across all business and clinical systems is accurate, consistent, secure, and compliant with regulatory and organizational standards. The Director leads cross-functional efforts to establish data ownership, maintain data quality, and enforce governance policies that support analytics, reporting, and strategic initiatives.
Working closely with Information Services, Compliance, and operational leadership, the Director develops and maintains governance frameworks, data catalogs, and stewardship processes that promote accountability and transparency in data use. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of data management principles, and the ability to translate complex governance standards into practical, sustainable enterprise processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and interpret organizational data governance goals, policies, and procedures.
- Consult with management to ensure agreement on data governance principles.
- Direct operations of the data governance program, including workflow and priorities.
- Develop data management standards aligned with regulatory and enterprise requirements.
- Consult with executives and vendors to assess computing and governance needs.
- Evaluate and approve data-related system designs prior to implementation.
- Participate in data governance committees or working groups.
- Oversee data quality and compliance audits across business units.
- Provide consultation and expert advice on data governance and security.
- Train and mentor staff involved in data stewardship and data management.
- Proactively engage in ongoing self-learning activities to continuously expand knowledge and understanding across supported areas and related healthcare and technology domains, contributing to improved efficiency and quality of support provided.
- Promotes the image and reputation of the System by exhibiting servant leadership and providing direct and open lines of communication.
- Contributes to the work of committees, workgroups, project management, and other collaborative efforts of the System.
- Performs other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the System.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field is required; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and directly relevant experience in data governance, information management, analytics, or technology leadership, including at least three years in a managerial or leadership capacity.
Experience in healthcare or other regulated industries is highly desirable.
Salary : $133,000 - $165,000
