Community Engagement and Recruitment Support
Position Title: Community Engagement and Recruitment Support
Reports To: Director of Communications

Job Summary
The Community Engagement and Recruitment Support supports district student
recruitment, enrollment, and community outreach efforts through relationship
building, event coordination, and family engagement initiatives. This position
promotes Franklin County Schools by increasing awareness of district programs,
schools, and opportunities while building positive relationships with prospective and
current families, community organizations, and stakeholders.
Community Recruitment, Enrollment & Outreach
- Support district student recruitment and enrollment efforts through outreach activities, informational sessions, community engagement, and relationship building with prospective families.
- Support outreach efforts related to student enrollment campaigns, district choice opportunities, and students transitioning into Franklin County Schools.
- Represent Franklin County Schools at community events, informational sessions, recruitment activities, school showcases, and outreach programs.
- Conduct timely follow-up communication with prospective families and community contacts regarding district opportunities, enrollment information, and upcoming events.
Event Planning & Coordination
- Plan, organize, and coordinate district recruitment events, outreach activities, informational sessions, and community engagement programs.
- Coordinate event logistics including scheduling, communication, materials, setup, vendor coordination, and post-event follow-up.
- Support district celebrations, recognition programs, school showcases, and special events as needed.
Community Engagement & Communications Support
- Promote district initiatives, programs, events, and opportunities through outreach and engagement activities.
- Collaborate with schools and departments to support outreach initiatives and increase community awareness of district offerings.
- Assist with developing promotional materials, outreach information, and communication related to recruitment and engagement initiatives.
- Support communication efforts that strengthen public trust, community engagement, and positive district relationships.
Communications & Outreach Support
- Support the Office of Communications with outreach initiatives, enrollment efforts, engagement campaigns, and special projects.
- Maintain records, event information, outreach contacts, and follow-up communication related to recruitment and engagement activities.
- Assist with identifying opportunities to increase community engagement, outreach participation, and student enrollment.
Minimum Requirements
Education
High school diploma required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Education, Public Relations, Event Planning, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in customer service, community outreach, event planning, marketing, communications, or public-facing roles preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects, events, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to build positive relationships with diverse families, community members, and stakeholders.
- Ability to represent the district professionally and positively in public settings.
Licenses/Certifications
Valid North Carolina driver’s license required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods while performing administrative duties.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Occasional standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying materials up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to travel between schools, community locations, and district events as needed.
- Ability to assist with event setup and coordination activities.
Working Conditions
This position requires a minimum 40-hour work week and a nontraditional schedule. Regular evening and weekend work is required to support district events, recruitment activities, family engagement opportunities, and community programs.
Evaluation
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Board policy and administrative procedures.
