Accounting Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accounting Specialist to support the financial operations of our organization. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing cash flow, supporting reporting activities, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, maintains strict confidentiality, and has experience across multiple areas of accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, and budgeting.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily finance and accounting operations.
• Maintain accurate and timely invoice processing and accounting records.
• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities.
• Lead credit and collections efforts to maintain healthy receivable balances.
• Perform cash management and cash flow analysis.
• Assist with preparation of profit and loss statements, budgets, forecasts, and financial estimates.
• Prepare weekly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management.
• Conduct financial and operational analysis and provide insights to leadership.
• Support sales and use tax reporting and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
• Maintain sound accounting practices and internal controls.
• Assist with financial audits and provide supporting documentation as required.
• Identify financial risks and communicate findings to management.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external accounting partners as needed.
• Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• 4-year Finance and/or Accounting Degree
• Minimum of four (4) years of progressive experience in accounting and finance.
• Strong understanding of:
• Accounts Payable (A/P)
• Accounts Receivable (A/R)
• General Ledger and Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Profit & Loss reporting
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Cash flow management

Technical Skills

• QuickBooks Pro certification preferred.
• Experience working with ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, and Excel).
• Experience with Concur expense management software is a plus.
