- Prepare complete monthly financial statements according to dealership and manufacturer guidelines within required deadlines
- Ensure all manufacturer accounts, including warranty claims, incentives, interest protection, and co-op advertising, remain current and accurate
- Analyze financial statements and Daily Operating Control (DOC) reports, identifying trends and communicating findings to the General Manager
- Assist in preparing short- and long-term financial forecasts for the dealership
- Provide department managers with detailed financial and operational reports
- Maintain effective cash management processes and recommend profitable use of excess funds
- Review general ledger and scheduled accounts, investigating unusual entries as needed
- Oversee reconciliation of general ledger accounts, including bank reconciliations, reserve accounts, factory payables, and floor plan payables
- Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations, tax filings, payroll deposits, retirement plan records, and reporting requirements
- Manage dealership computer systems to maximize efficiency and utilization
- Administer loss review programs and maintain reserves for contingent liabilities and receivables
- Prepare and process insurance claims
- Coordinate annual audits/reviews and physical inventory processes
- Supervise office personnel to ensure proper accounting procedures, accurate recordkeeping, and efficient audit preparation
- Continuously improve reporting accuracy and data integrity throughout the dealership
- Attend manager meetings and contribute to operational success
- Perform additional duties as assigned
