This role will establish quality checkpoints, lead root cause analysis, and build a sustainable quality culture across all departments. The Director will ensure compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and applicable industry regulations.

Why Join FR Conversions?

At FR Conversions, we don’t just build vehicles, we build independence, safety, and reliability for the people and communities who rely on them. This is a unique opportunity to build a quality function from the ground up in a vertically integrated, fast-growing manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and standardize quality assurance procedures across all stages of manufacturing and vehicle conversion.
  • Establish checkpoints, documentation protocols, and inspection standards for fabrication, kitting, electrical, mechanical, and final assembly processes.
  • Define and track KPIs to monitor and improve product quality and process performance.
  • Conduct internal audits at each stage of production to verify adherence to quality standards and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Serve as the primary quality liaison for regulatory audits and ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal safety standards.
  • Inspect for compliance with FMVSS, NHTSA, OEM requirements, and customer-specific expectations.
  • Oversee documentation and readiness for external inspections or regulatory reviews.
  • Direct incoming inspection of raw materials and sourced components.
  • Implement in-process inspections across all production departments.
  • Lead the final vehicle quality review process, including comprehensive inspection, road testing, and readiness for customer delivery.
  • Lead, train, and develop a team of inspectors and quality personnel.
  • Set clear expectations, review performance, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
  • Partner with Engineering, Production, Purchasing, and Warranty departments to prevent quality issues and resolve root causes.
  • Support design-for-manufacturing and quality initiatives for new or modified vehicle platforms.
