FR Conversions is a leading manufacturer of wheelchair-accessible vehicles, ambulances, and specialty transportation solutions. We are seeking a Laser Operator to join our growing Pre-Production team.
This position operates laser cutting equipment used to produce precision components that support vehicle manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate enjoys working with advanced manufacturing equipment, has strong attention to detail, and takes pride in producing high-quality work.
What You'll Do
- Operate laser cutting equipment to process steel, aluminum, and other materials according to production requirements.
- Review work orders, blueprints, drawings, and specifications prior to production.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished parts safely and efficiently.
- Monitor machine performance and production quality throughout operation.
- Perform quality inspections to ensure parts meet dimensional and visual requirements.
- Complete production documentation and work order transactions as required.
- Assist with routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
- Coordinate with fabrication and assembly teams to support production schedules.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements.

Qualifications:What We're Looking For
- Manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to accurately read measuring devices and verify dimensions.
- Forklift experience preferred or willingness to become certified.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Bonus Qualifications
- CNC laser setup experience.
- Laser programming or nesting software experience.
- Experience working in a fabrication or metal manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of material properties and fabrication processes.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and lift throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and heavier materials with assistance.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
