Product Development & Sourcing Specialist

Our client, a well-established consumer products company, is seeking a Product Development & Sourcing Specialist with deep expertise in consumer electronics and mobile accessories. This role requires someone who can independently manage the product lifecycle from concept through production while building and maintaining strong overseas supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and source consumer electronics and mobile accessory products, including chargers, cables, speakers, earbuds, power banks, gaming accessories, and novelty tech items.
• Identify trend-forward, value-focused products aligned with the needs of off-price and extreme-value retail channels.
• Manage product development from concept, sampling, testing, and costing through final production and delivery.
• .Build and maintain relationships with overseas factories and suppliers, negotiating pricing, minimum order quantities, packaging requirements, and production schedules.
• Partner cross-functionally with merchandising, design, packaging, compliance, and operations teams to bring products to market successfully.
• Monitor industry trends, competitive products, pricing strategies, and emerging technologies within the consumer electronics accessories space.
• Ensure all products meet applicable quality, safety, testing, and compliance standards for U.S. retail distribution.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining aggressive development timelines.

Required Qualifications

• 3–7 years of experience in product development and sourcing within consumer electronics, mobile accessories, or related categories.
• Demonstrated expertise managing overseas factories and vendor relationships, preferably throughout Asia.
• Strong understanding of costing, margin management, sourcing strategies, and production timelines.
• Experience developing products for off-price, discount, or value-focused retail channels
• Knowledge of testing, quality, and compliance requirements for consumer electronics accessories.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, project management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and serve as a subject matter expert within the category.
