Our client, a luxury fashion brand based in NYC, is looking for an Merchandising Assistant to join their team on a temp basis!
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Senior Manager, Merchandising in the daily management of assigned product categories.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the merchandising team, including reporting, file management, and product sample coordination.
- Identify business opportunities, mitigate risks, and recommend and track actionable plans to improve performance.
- Develop and implement merchandising strategies for assigned categories.
- Participate in annual/biannual buying sessions in Europe.
- Gather and consolidate product feedback from sales channels to inform assortment planning and strengthen North America’s market positioning.
- Ensure regional needs are clearly represented to HQ, building strong partnerships and advocating for North America in global discussions.
- Partner with Planning & Allocation to ensure efficient execution of merchandising strategies.
- Track and report on product performance through regular weekly, monthly, and quarterly analyses.
- Support the team in preparing presentations and executive recaps to communicate strategies and results.
- Build strong partnerships with store teams and corporate functions to foster collaboration.
- Contribute to regional projects for the AVP, Merchandising Americas
Qualifications
- 3–4 years of experience in merchandising, buying, planning, or a related field (luxury retail a plus)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Solid understanding of retail math and merchandising processes
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
