What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cut and Sew Apparel Designer position at Fourth Floor?
Our client, a popular shoe and activewear brand, is looking for a TEMPORARY Cut & Sew Designer to join their team on-site in Denver, CO!
Responsibilities:
- Concept & Trend Development: Research global streetwear, contemporary apparel, and fabric trends to pitch cohesive seasonal mood boards and color palettes.
- Technical Design & Tech Packs: Create highly accurate digital flats and comprehensive tech packs detailing measurements, hardware, stitching types, and fabric weights.
- Material Sourcing: Select and evaluate specific raw textiles, trims, and specialized hardware.
- Patternmaking & Draping: Develop raw paper or digital patterns, or supervise technical patternmakers, to map out precisely how individual panels are cut.
- Sample Fitting & Alterations: Lead fitting sessions with live fit models, adjusting garment panels and sewing details to correct drape, shape, and sizing.
- Vendor & Factory Communication: Coordinate daily with domestic and overseas manufacturers to guide sample revisions and ensure structural design integrity.
Requirements:
- 5 years of apparel design experience.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
