Accountant

Our client, a well-known denim and apparel brand, is hiring anAccountant to join their Finance team. This is a strong fit for someone who knows operational accounting inside and out and thrives in a fast-paced retail environment. You will own journal entries, reconciliations, fixed assets, intercompany invoicing, and multi-state sales tax filings.

What You Will Do

• Record journal entries, allocations, and accruals
• Own the general ledger and make sure transactions are classified correctly
• Review GL activity and build balance sheet reconciliations (prepaid expenses, fixed assets, AR, accrued expenses)
• Handle intercompany invoicing and reconciliations
• Keep fixed asset schedules current and calculate depreciation
• Reconcile monthly credit card and cash accounts
• Prepare and file multi-state sales tax returns
• Review expense accounts and support the monthly close
• Find ways to tighten processes, strengthen internal controls, and shorten the close cycle
• Partner with external auditors and pitch in on ad hoc projects

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
• 10 years of accounting experience; retail, fashion, or multi-entity environments a plus
• Solid command of GAAP and strong general ledger skills
• SAP experience
• Comfort with multi-state sales tax filings
• Strong Excel skills
• Detail-driven, analytical, and ready to take ownership
