Position Details
- Reports to: Head of School and Principal
- Work Year: 205 days
- Start Date: July 1, 2026
- Salary Range: $80,000–$98,000 (based on experience)

Special Education Leadership
- Direct the special education program, ensuring full compliance with state and federal regulations and alignment with best practices
- Supervise special education staff, interventionists, and related service providers
- Facilitate Special Education Team meetings and support curriculum planning
- Guide implementation and evaluation of IEPs to support student achievement
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Teaching and Learning and school leadership
- Prepare budgets and manage special education grants
- Advise the Special Education Parent Advisory Council
- Oversee all IEP and 504 processes, including timelines, reviews, and compliance
- Chair and attend meetings; review, approve, and sign IEPs
- Collaborate with counseling staff, evaluators, and the school nurse
- Oversee student placement, transitions, and record keeping
- Submit required reports and ensure compliance with DESE regulations
- Lead schoolwide academic support services and MTSS systems
- Facilitate weekly MTSS meetings using data to inform interventions
- Support faculty in implementing inclusive practices and interventions
- Maintain and update the District Curriculum Accommodation Plan (DCAP)
- Communicate with families regarding student progress and supports
- Observe classrooms and support instructional strategies
- Support schoolwide testing, including MCAS and diagnostic assessments
- Collaborate on scheduling, materials management, and compliance
- Guide staff in effective use of assessment data
- Lead Title I programming, including staffing, application, and reporting
- Co-direct the English Language Learner (ELL) program
- Ensure compliance with DESE monitoring, reporting, and corrective actions
- Coordinate responses to special education complaints and legal matters
- Support hiring and evaluation of student services staff
- Serve on the school’s administrative (Farmhouse) team
- Significant experience in Special Education (grades 7–12 preferred)
- Massachusetts certification (Special Education Administrator preferred or ability to fulfill requirements)
- Strong knowledge of IEP processes and special education law
- Demonstrated commitment to equity and anti-racist practices
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience supporting diverse learners in inclusive settings
- Ability to engage in reflective practice and professional growth
- Capacity to lead courageous conversations about equity and access
- Energy, flexibility, and collaboration skills to thrive in a dynamic school environment
