Your Role: General Construction Carpenter
As a General Construction Carpenter at Fountain Services, you will work as part of our growing general construction division, supporting facility expansion projects, community-based construction, and the successful execution of our electrical installation projects. This role requires broad construction knowledge, especially in carpentry, and the ability to work hands-on in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general construction duties with a focus on carpentry
- Support facility construction and community-based projects
- Assist with electrical installations through related structural work
- Contribute to a variety of construction tasks, including:
- HVAC installation assistance
- Concrete and light paving
- Plumbing and mechanical work
- Light equipment operation
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
- Collaborate with internal construction and electrical teams
- Follow project timelines and contribute to high-quality project delivery
Minimum Requirements
- 4 years of experience in commercial and/or residential construction or contracting
- Significant expertise in residential carpentry and general construction techniques
- High school diploma or GED
- Must pass a mandatory pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Must live within approximately 30 minutes of our Spindale, NC headquarters
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in supporting or executing HVAC, plumbing, concrete, and/or mechanical installations
- Light equipment operation experience
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Background in both residential and commercial construction environments
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Capable of working from ladders and scaffolding
- Able to perform tasks that involve reaching, squatting, kneeling, crouching, bending, and stretching
- Comfortable working overhead and in varied climate conditions
- Must have good balance, coordination, depth perception, and physical stamina
- Above all, must be able to safely perform the physical duties of the role
