Lead Electrical Instructor

Foundry (American Talent Labs)
Dallas, TX Full Time
POSTED ON 10/20/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 4/17/2027

Foundry’s mission is to help people do their life’s work. We are building a nationwide network of tech-enabled trade schools to train the people who will build and run America’s critical infrastructure. We’re creating new pathways into the skilled trades, allowing our trainees to build lasting careers, support their families, and contribute to their communities.

Starting with electrical, we combine rigorous hands-on instruction, close employer relationships, and new learning technologies to offer our trainees the best possible job opportunities via highly accelerated training programs. We’re looking for exceptional teachers and operators to help us build a lasting vocational institution.

Become the lead instructor at a new trade school and help Foundry reinvent electrical training, creating the next generation of electricians.

This is a full-time, onsite role in Dallas, Texas. You must live there permanently or relocate permanently for the job.

You'll lead hands-on electrical instruction, mentor students and help build the school's teaching program. We're looking for an experienced electrician who has led crews, demonstrated that they can teach, and loves helping people learn. You should want to make teaching your full-time, long-term career and help build a school you can grow with.

This role is as much about developing professional, accountable and motivated people as it is about electrical knowledge. You'll instill integrity, pride in the work and a high standard of excellence. You must know when to be tough, when to be patient, and how to help students meet the bar without lowering it.

What you will do

  • Teach hands-on electrical fundamentals, including safety, conduit bending, wire pulling, terminations, panel wiring and print reading, within the approved program.
  • Demonstrate tasks, observe students doing the work, diagnose mistakes and reteach until they can perform to the required standard.
  • Develop students' professionalism, accountability, motivation and teamwork. Set clear expectations, address problems directly and model integrity and pride in the work.
  • Help set up the training shop, prepare materials and improve lessons and practical assessments.
  • Work with the campus director and employers to connect training with real entry-level work.

What you bring

  • At least five years of electrical experience, including relevant hands-on commercial or industrial work, and experience leading apprentices or journeymen as a foreman, general foreman or equivalent crew leader.
  • Demonstrated electrical instruction through a school, apprenticeship program, contractor training or a structured apprentice-training responsibility. Be ready to describe what you taught and how you assessed learning.
  • Clear communication and the judgment to know when a student needs firm accountability and when they need patient coaching. You maintain a high bar of excellence and help students rise to it.
  • A current Texas Journeyman Electrician license issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
  • Full-time residence in Dallas, Texas, or willingness to relocate there permanently for this full-time, onsite role. A genuine commitment to making teaching your long-term career.

What success looks like

  • Students develop into safe, competent and dependable tradespeople who demonstrate integrity, take responsibility for their work and hold themselves to a high standard.
  • Students take pride in the trade, arrive prepared, follow through on commitments and respond constructively to feedback. You hold them accountable while giving them the instruction and support to succeed.
  • Students demonstrate the required electrical skills safely and explain their work. Your assessments accurately identify gaps, and your reteaching helps students meet the standard.
  • You help build the foundation of a school that can develop successive generations of excellent tradespeople: repeatable lessons, rigorous assessments and teaching methods that preserve quality as Foundry grows.

How you'll work

Foundry's internal platform is central to how we work. You'll use it closely, work with the team building it, and help improve it through feedback from the campus.

Openness to implementing AI across every part of your role is a prerequisite for success. You don't need to arrive knowing every tool. You do need to learn quickly, experiment, rethink established workflows and take responsibility for the quality of the result.

You'll continually look for better ways to prepare lessons, explain concepts, assess understanding, give feedback and improve instruction. You retain responsibility for technical accuracy and safety.
