What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scheduler position at Foster Lawson?
I am partnered currently with a Top 5 Heavy Civil contractor in NYC, seeking an experienced Scheduler to support the delivery of complex infrastructure projects across the Northeast.
Experience working with a GC is STRONG preferred.
You will be responsible for building, maintaining, and analysing project schedules across mid to large-scale construction programs from $50M to $350M . Working closely with project teams, you will play a key role in ensuring alignment across planning, cost, and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed Primavera P6 schedules
- Manage and analyse critical path activities and project timelines
- Track construction progress and identify risks, delays, and conflicts
- Produce cost- and resource-loaded schedules
- Collaborate with project teams to review sequencing, logic, and execution strategy
- Prepare schedule narratives and reporting in line with client requirements
- Conduct delay analysis (time impact, productivity, and disruption analysis)
- Support preparation of claims and time extension requests
Requirements
- 5 years’ experience in construction scheduling
- Strong experience using Primavera P6
- Background in heavy civil/infrastructure project planning
- Experience working on public sector or DOT-related projects from $50M
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, methodologies, and terminology
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
