Parkwest Bicycle Casino is seeking a Kitchen Help in the Food & Beverage department. Kitchen Help will assist in preparing and serving/plating the food by performing the following duties and responsibilities below.

 

 

Responsibilities

Assist the kitchen team with basic food preparation tasks, such as chopping, peeling, and slicing ingredients.

Washes, peels, and cuts various foods, such as fruits and vegetables, meats or other meal prep.

Dices and cuts food necessary for preparation of sauces, soups, gravies and stews.

Set up work stations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes.

Prepare simple dishes such as salads and entrees.

Labels and stocks all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible.

Maintains contact with the Butcher for the qualify and freshness of products.

Assists Cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks as needed; and provides cooks with needed items.

Carry food supplies, equipment and utensils to and from storage and work areas.

Helps prepare and carve all meats for buffet and Banquet lines.

Prepares all the set-up requirements for daily menu and specials.

Prepares pizza with toppings.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass mandatory screening including a background check and drug test.
• Must possess a California Food Handler Card.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Able to deal effectively and interact well with customers and co-workers.
• Able to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
• Available for full time work including weekends and evening scheduling; and ready for all programs and activities. Able to work varied shifts and flexible schedules.
• Able to communicate clearly with team members.
• Requires ability to multi-task effectively.
• Able to work independently
• Able to work within a team environment

Education / Experience:

• No specific education required. High School diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• One-two years’ experience in kitchen of comparable quality preferred but not required.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

• Must be able to lift and carry tools, supplies, and inventory up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to perform all essential duties with or without accommodation.
