Overview

Parkwest Casino is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated Barista / Server to join our team and make a real difference in our guest's experience! This job creates an uplifting experience for our customers by providing customers with prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintain a clean and comfortable store environment. Responsibilities

Prepares espresso-based coffee drinks and other food products available.

Provides quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards. Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products.

Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the shift team.

Anticipates customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues.

Assists with new partner training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed.

Contributes to positive team environment by recognizing alarms or changes in partner morale and performance and communicating them to the store manager.

Delivers legendary customer service to all customers by acting with a customer comes-first attitude and connecting with the customer. Discovers and responds to customer needs.

Follows operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all partners during each shift.

Maintains a clean and organized workspace so that partners can locate resources and product as needed.

Available to perform many different tasks within the store during each shift.

Other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass mandatory screening including a background check, and drug test.
• Must possess a California Food Handler Card.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have basic knowledge of various drink recipes.
• Able to deal effectively and interact well with customers and co-workers.
• Able to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
• Available for work Graveyard shift, weekends and holidays, and overtime when needed. 
• Able to communicate clearly with team members.
• Able to work independently.
• Able to work within a team environment.
• Requires strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task effectively.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent, college degree or bartending school diploma preferred.

Experience:

1-2 years experience as a Barista in a facility of comparable quality desired. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to follow all safe food handling procedures and sanitation practices. Ability to serve customers quickly, efficiently, and kindly.

 

Physical and Mental Requirements:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to lift and carry tools, supplies, and inventory up to 35 pounds
• Must be able to perform all essential duties with or without accommodation.
