What are the responsibilities and job description for the Asphalt General Manager position at Fort Myer Construction Corporation?
The ideal candidate will have experience leading a team and managing the daily operation of the business. They will be responsible for managing the operation of all asphalt milling crews, including safety complaince, quality control and logistics, equipment selection, and personnel management.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to Superintendents and Foremen across all paving operartions.
- Manage purchasing of asphalt and related materials to control costs and maintain production.
- Establish operational goals, objective, and KPIs aligned with company strategy.
- Lead operational meetings to resolve complex issues to maintain project and team alignment.
- Ensure compliance with al regulatory requirements, including OSHA, DDOT, VDOT and MDSHA.
- Ensure that quality of work or service is maintained.
Qualifications
- Superior leadership skills both verbal and written form.
- 10 to 15 years experience in the asphalt industry and a minimum of 5 years of management.
- Comfort working with budgets, payroll, revenue and forecasting Strong communications skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management preferred.
- Demostrated experience in vendor negotiations and purchasing.
- Ability to manage budgets, labor and understanding P&L performance.
