Summary:
We are seeking a Wet Utility General Laborer with at least one (1) year of experience in utility work.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with installation and repair of wet utilities (water, sewer, storm drain),
Dig trenches, clear debris, tools and hazardous materials from job site,
Perform trenching, pipe laying, and site cleanup,
Assist with setting up traffic control devices, cones, and construction signage.
Follow all safety procedures and work as part of a crew,
Load and unload materials and tools at the job site
May be required to work extended hours including evenings, nights, and weekends,
Additional duties as required.
Requirements:
Minimum 1 year experience in utility and construction work,
Ability to work outdoors in various conditions,
Reliable transportation and strong work ethics,
Reliable transportation to job sites,
Must be able to pass drug screen and background checks.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds continuously throughout the workday,
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, squat, and twist, throughout the workday,
This job requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time,
This job requires the ability to see, whether naturally or with vision correction tools (glasses, contacts),
Performing strenuous work in varying temperatures, humidity, wind, or other extreme inclement weather for extended periods of time,
May perform work in an environment with exposure to fuel, fumes, vapors, dust, grease and oils, as well as loud and/or constant noise and exposure to moving equipment.
Note: This position is considered Safety-Sensitive, and therefore subject to various schedule and unscheduled screenings for controlled substances.
