What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager position at FORT + HOME?
Grand Junction, CO (On-Site) · $85,000–$100,000/year Health & Dental Insurance 2 Weeks Paid Vacation
Fort Home is a vertically integrated real estate organization reshaping housing across the Rocky Mountain region. From capital and lending, to development, to offsite modular construction, to brokerage and asset management, we deliver affordable, high-quality housing through a single integrated model. We are growing fast — and building a modern, technology-first operations function to scale with us.
We're hiring a Project Manager to help our team deliver homes on time, on budget, and at the quality standard our product demands. This is a new seat, created to add execution capacity across our active development pipeline — including active and future projects across the Rocky Mountain region.
The Project Manager owns schedule, budget, and quality execution across Fort Home's active construction projects — both offsite (modular production in our Grand Junction factory) and onsite (foundation, site finish, connections, and closeout in the field). You'll report to our General Manager and work hand-in-hand with our Construction Manager, factory operations team, and field crews to keep every project moving on plan.
This is a hands-on, on-site role for someone who wants to build a career in modular and production-built housing. You'll see the full project lifecycle — preconstruction package to closeout — across multiple projects at once, and you'll be part of a team building a category-defining housing platform on the Western Slope.
Schedule
- Run the day-to-day project schedule for assigned developments in JobTread
- Coordinate the handoff between factory milestones and field execution
- Identify schedule risks early; surface them with the data to back the call
- Keep subcontractors, trade partners, and field crews aligned to the master schedule
Budget
- Track project budgets against actuals in JobTread; flag variances early
- Review and process change orders within the approved scope
- Partner with our estimator on cost validation and constructability review
- Produce clean draw evidence packages for the finance team
Quality
- Walk every project regularly; document conditions in JobTread and the field photo log
- Coordinate factory quality gate sign-offs with the Construction Manager
- Coordinate field inspections — third-party, building official, lender
- Enforce the punch list to closeout standard before turnover
Coordination
- Daily communication with field crews, factory production, subcontractors, and the office
- Weekly project status reporting to leadership
- Partner with the General Manager on client-facing communication (you provide field data; GM owns the message)
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 3 years of project management experience in residential or light commercial construction
- Strong scheduling and budgeting fundamentals
- Comfort reading plans, specs, and shop drawings

- Comfort with AI tools, process automation, and modern construction technology
