General Statement of Duties
Forsyth County Parks and Recreation is looking for qualified individuals for Cashiers to work the annual Festival of Lights. This is a great way to earn extra holiday money!
This seasonal position will work at the Festival of Lights Front Gate and the Festival of Lights Gift Shop.
Duties include but are not limited to: operating cash registers, assisting customers, taking admission tickets, maintaining and stocking merchandise, assisting in the event of an emergency and creating financial reports.
This position is interchangeable with each employee alternating working at the Front Gate and the Gift Shop.
Hour will vary. Cashiers can work 20-40 hours per week and must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays from 5:00 PM - 1:00 AM.
Distinguishing Features
Successful candidates should posses the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
Knowledge of safety and other rules and regulations of the park.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public.
Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
Minimum Education And Experience
High School or GED graduation and one year of relevant experience.
A higher education level may be considered as a substitution for all or part of the experience requirement.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Previous retail or cash handling experience is preferred.
Gift Shop duties include
Maintaining and stocking merchandise
Assisting customers
Operating cash registers
Wrapping fragile items
Monitoring the floor to prevent theft
Assisting in the event of an emergency
Assisting in creating financial reports
Front Gate duties include
Taking admission tickets
Answering questions and assisting customers
Operating cash registers
Assisting with traffic issues and emergencies
Assisting in creating financial reports
