The Library Assistant Floater Part Time position assists various library locations with circulation and public service desk duties with a goal of responsive, excellent customer service. Duties include circulating materials to library patrons, program facilitation of relative library programs and services to library customers, materials processing, displays and merchandising the collection, processing library cards, and various clerical duties. Library Assistants will demonstrate current computer competencies including Microsoft Office, the NC Cardinal/Evergreen ILS system, electronic devices used to download library media, and basic office equipment.
This position works 20 hours per week and must be able to work a flexible schedule as needed (nights and weekends). Some of the duties for this position require bending, stretching, and squatting, pushing book trucks weighing up to 50 pounds, and lifting bins weighing up to 25 pounds. Must be able to drive to all ten library locations in the Forsyth County Public Library system.
Proficient in various computer technology including Microsoft, Google, internet searching and downloadable materials.
Excellent customer service skills.
High school graduation or GED and two years of relevant experience which includes at least one year of library experience. A higher education level may be considered as a substitution for all or part of the experience requirement. Maintain a valid driver's license.
