What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fiscal Technician position at Forsyth County?
The Forsyth County Department of Public Health is seeking to hire a detail oriented and highly organized professional for a Fiscal Technician position. A qualified candidate must be able to work independently on a variety of finance-related tasks in support of the internal Finance division of Public Health. The primary purpose of this position is to review, process, and maintain contracts for the department. Work includes performing accurate reconciliation functions for Public Health revenue sources and completing various fiscal related reports.
Employee will be expected to travel between all Public Health sites for daily mail and money pick up.
During Public Health emergencies (including large scale communicable disease outbreaks), this position may have to work non-traditional hours to include evenings and weekends.
Work Hours are Monday - Friday 800 am - 5:00 pmThe ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Working knowledge of State laws and County policies & procedures affecting Public Health billing and collections;
Working knowledge of records and forms used in the department;
Working knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word;
Ability to perform basic mathematical computations accurately & efficiently;
Ability to communicate with others tactfully and courteously;
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees and;
Proficiency in data entry.Graduation from high school or GED and at least two years of clerical accounting, business, administrative, or related experience.
A higher education level may be considered as a substitution for all or part of the experience requirement.
Valid driver's license required.Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Processing of invoices, requisitions, purchase orders and contracts for an assigned division of the department.
Daily Cashier entry and preparing deposits when needed.
Pick up mail and money from Health Department, Dental Clinic and Pharmacy.
Prepare and assist with Budget Transfers, Budget request preparation and any other various budget tasks assigned.
Creation of internal reports such as budget balances and revenue reporting.
Assist individual employees with internal systems and policies.
Provide liaison support for communications between departments when necessary.
Provide customer service contact with vendors when necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
