Forsyth Barnes is partnering with a leading consumer-facing organisation to hire a Senior Data Scientist into a highly visible and evolving team. This role is centred on driving high-impact analytics and modelling initiatives across a broad technical remit, while also supporting the evolution of AI-enabled delivery within the function.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys operating across advanced analytics, statistical modelling, data engineering exposure, and commercial stakeholder engagement within a lean environment where they can have genuine influence. The role will suit an individual who is excited by the opportunity to work across both hands-on technical delivery and broader business-facing problem solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, enhance, and maintain statistical and predictive models to support business decision-making
- Work across a broad analytics remit spanning modelling, advanced analytics, and light data engineering
- Support the maintenance and evolution of existing analytical applications, workflows, and modelling environments
- Partner closely with business stakeholders and leadership to solve commercially relevant problems
- Work within an AI-enabled environment, leveraging AI tools and agents to improve efficiency and delivery
- Help shape how advanced analytics and AI capability develops within the wider function
- Support data quality, governance, and broader analytical best practices across the team
- Translate complex technical outputs into clear business recommendations and stakeholder-facing insights
- Collaborate cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams to drive impact
Candidate Profile
- Strong experience in Data Science, Advanced Analytics, or Machine Learning
- Experience operating at Senior, Lead, or Manager level
- Strong background in statistical modelling, predictive analytics, and commercial problem solving
- Experience with Databricks is highly preferred
- Good understanding of Spark, data pipelines, and modern data environments
- Proficiency in Python and/or R, with SQL experience strongly preferred
- Comfortable working across a broad scope rather than within a narrow specialist remit
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage cross-functionally
- Experience in retail, consumer, eCommerce, or adjacent industries is advantageous but not essential
- Exposure to AI tooling, AI agents, or AI-enabled workflows would be beneficial
Additional Information
- Hybrid working model — candidates must be able to commute to either New York City or Bridgewater, NJ 3 days per week
