POSITION SUMMARY |
|
The Mixing Lead is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all mixing operations within the dietary manufacturing process to ensure product quality, consistency, and compliance with FDA, cGMP, and company standards. This role provides hands-on leadership to mixing operators, ensuring that ingredients are accurately weighed, mixed, and blended according to approved formulations and master manufacturing records (MMRs). The Mixing Lead ensures safety, efficiency, and quality are maintained while promoting a clean, compliant, and organized work environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: |

· Lead and oversee daily mixing operations according to production schedules and MMRs. · Ensure all mixing activities are performed in compliance with FDA 21 CFR Part 111, cGMP, SOPs, and safety standards. · Verify ingredient identity, lot numbers, and quantities before batch preparation. · Supervise setup, operation, and cleaning of mixers, blenders, and associated equipment. · Monitor batch progress and perform in-process checks to confirm blend uniformity, yield, and quality. · Maintain complete and accurate documentation for all mixing batches, including equipment logs and production records. · Support training, mentoring, and development of mixing operators to ensure technical competency and compliance. · Collaborate with QA, Maintenance, and Compounding teams to resolve production or equipment issues. · Identify and report deviations, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns promptly. · Enforce adherence to hygiene, PPE, and sanitation requirements in mixing areas. · Support process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, consistency, and safety. · Ensure mixing rooms and equipment are cleaned and maintained in a state of readiness at all times. |

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE |
|
· High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred. · 3–5 years of experience in mixing, blending, or compounding within dietary supplement, nutraceutical, food, or pharmaceutical manufacturing. · Strong understanding of FDA 21 CFR Part 111 and cGMP manufacturing practices. · Demonstrated leadership ability to coordinate teams and manage workflow effectively. · Excellent attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and organizational skills. · Ability to read and interpret master manufacturing records (MMRs) and follow written instructions precisely. · Mechanical aptitude with experience operating and troubleshooting mixing and blending equipment. · Effective communication and teamwork skills. · Basic computer proficiency for data entry and production recordkeeping. |

Employee Responsibilities • Adhere to cGMPs and SOPs. • Report any situations that might harm food safety or quality immediately to the supervisor or QA Department. • Ensure food safety and quality are maintained according to company standards. • Comply with policies and procedures to prepare and pack products under sanitary conditions that do not expose it to the risk of contamination. • Operate and maintain a clean and hygienic standard of operation. Always Follow Company CGMPS (Current Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety Policies).
Supervisor Responsibilities · Maintain a Food Safety Culture by regularly assessing the team’s performance and understanding of food safety practices. · Initiate decisions on corrective action that support resolution and improved policies and procedures. · Communicate to employees any opportunity to improve team performance to achieve greater levels of product safety and quality. · Comply with policies and procedures to prepare and pack the product under sanitary conditions that do not expose it to the risk of contamination. · Encourage and maintain a strong food safety culture by ensuring employees are knowledgeable of food safety policies and procedures, as well as empowered to report events that could impact the food safety of the product

PHYSICAL DEMANDS |

· Frequent standing, walking, and manual handling of ingredients and equipment. · Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 75 pounds. · Repetitive bending, reaching, and twisting during production activities. · Manual dexterity for operating machinery, scales, and hand tools. · Must be able to wear PPE, including gloves, masks, safety glasses, and protective clothing. |

· Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to moderate noise, powders, and temperature changes. · Must adhere to all GMP, hygiene, and safety protocols at all times. · Fast-paced, team-oriented environment requiring precision and focus. · Occasional extended hours or weekend shifts to meet production demand. · Regular collaboration with Quality, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams.
