Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.
I. POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Administrator will act as the critical link in the fulfilment of on time shipments and accurate accountability of inventory into the Formosa AS400/ERP Inventory System for the site. This includes the oversight for all C4 and C6 products shipping by railcars, the FPC Hexene plant, return of empty feedstock back to vendors, and lease railcars from FPC TX. The Administrator exercises independent judgement to maintain receiving accuracy, topping off of partial railcars in conjunction with the production schedule, and resolving discrepancies while sustaining a safe and healthful working environment that meets environmental, health and safety regulatory and Company requirements.
II. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
PO Hexene-1 and Butene-1 Comonomer Coordinator: Serve as the primary liaison with C4/C6 vendors and FPC Hexene plant (including Customer Service Representatives, sales, shipping, and billing teams) and NJ purchasing to order, ship, and offload C4/C6 railcars based of end user's production schedule. Ensuring First In First Out accuracy, as this is vital in preventing demurrage charges, an unwarranted cost to Formosa Plastics. Annual review of vendor contracts to verify free demurrage days to minimize or eliminate demurrage cost. Track Vendor railcar inbound and outbound to verify no delays with railcars. Schedule offloading at both LLDPE and HDPE3 to expedite railcar turnaround time and ensure adequate inventory for the end users.
Interplant Product Rework Coordinator: Independently schedule with vendors and traffic to bring nonprime product that can be reworked into prime product. This includes directing the efficient scheduling of these products during the correct product campaign to get this material turned around ASAP. Coordinate and oversee the refilling of the reactor seed bed silos by scheduling with PE3, bulk truck vendor and additional manpower.
Partial Railcar Management: Independently coordinate the movement of partial railcars, aligning these movements strategically with the production schedule. Exercise discretion to determine if pending cars can be consolidated and topped off, thereby optimizing efficiency and eliminating the accumulation of multiple partial cars.
Records Maintenance: Independently manage and maintain COA and BOLS for each car offloaded. Coordinate with FPC engineering staff to review COAs against material specifications to reduce or eliminate any contamination. Exercise discretion in reviewing information to identify incorrect information or missing paperwork that could cause shipment delays or product contamination. Maintain partial railcar top off records. Maintain NJ schedule and unit production schedule.
Cross Training: Ensures all department job duties & responsibilities are completed daily. Maintains operational continuity and meets customers' expectations even during staff shortages, leveraging cross-functional knowledge to support the team effectively.
Policy Compliance: Serve as an advocate of company policy, ensuring adherence to ISO standards and compliance with regulatory, quality, environmental, health, and safety requirements. Take the lead in identifying and addressing compliance gaps, collaborating with employees to resolve issues efficiently. Oversee controlled document management to maintain conformity with company and regulatory standards.
THM: Promote cleanliness and order through the implementation of the Total House Keeping Maintenance program. Emphasize Nothing Touch Ground program and No Visual Pollution program. Maintain the plant in like new condition.
III. QUALIFICATIONS
A. TECHNICAL JOB CRITERIA
- Previous Related Experience Required
A minimum of one (1) to five (5) years' experience in shipping/inventory, cost management, budgeting and consumption analysis, dependent on education. Experience working within the petrochemical industry preferred.

Will require training in Company Policies and Procedures after hire.
