About the Role
Lead and supervise fabrication shop personnel, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily production schedules and workflow to ensure projects are completed on time
- Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work orders
- Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and resources to support production goals
- Monitor quality throughout the fabrication process and implement corrective actions as needed
- Work closely with project management, engineering, purchasing, and installation teams
- Oversee inventory levels, material usage, and shop organization
- Train, mentor, and develop fabrication personnel
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, throughput, and overall shop performance
- Assist with hands-on fabrication and troubleshooting when necessary
Qualifications
- 5 years of fabrication, manufacturing, or shop management experience
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience managing fabrication schedules, manpower, and production priorities
- Proven leadership experience supervising shop personnel
- Knowledge of welding, metal fabrication, assembly, and manufacturing processes
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and production tracking systems
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Preferred Skills
- Custom fabrication, architectural products, signage, millwork, or specialty manufacturing experience
- Inventory management and purchasing coordination
