We are partnering with a global manufacturing and distribution company in Jackson County, Georgia, seeking a hands-on Director of Accounting to lead all aspects of accounting and finance for their U.S. operations. This role offers high visibility with the U.S. leadership team and global parent company, and the opportunity to make a strategic impact while managing day-to-day finance operations.
As the Director of Accounting, you will oversee an accounting team and lead processes including month-end close, budgeting and forecasting, and maintaining accounting systems. You will have the opportunity to steer the company's continued growth.

This is an onsite role in Jackson County, Georgia.
Essential Duties & Functions
- Aid in the preparation of monthly financials and supporting schedules, ensuring that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
- Oversee consolidated and inventory packages quarterly, including additional quarter-end calculations
- Prepare schedules for quarterly reviews and oversee annual SOX and internal audits with an external firm
- Manage all tax activities, including excise, sales, and personal property taxes; provide information for CPA-prepared returns and quarterly provisions; coordinate federal and state estimates, notices, and audits; oversee 1099 preparation
- Oversee treasury activities
- Monitor accounts receivable, release orders on hold, request line of credit increases, review inventory reports, and collect financials from dealers
- Manage AP process, ensuring proper approvals and coding
- Manage corporate credit cards, expense management software, and approve expense reports weekly
- Oversee preparation of mid-year and annual budgets, including headcount, Capex, and salaries
- Coordinate 401k activities, including on-site visits, annual forms, plan testing, Form 5500, and audits
- Review payroll every two weeks, prepare year-end deferred comp contributions, fringe benefits, and company car taxable income, and oversee HR system updates
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA required
- Proven financial leadership experience, managing teams and overseeing complex accounting operations.
- Exposure to audits, including internal, external, and regulatory audits
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and compliance requirements
- Customer service mindset, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- ERP experience required; experience leading or supporting ERP implementation projects is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to streamline processes and optimize financial operations to improve efficiency and accuracy.
