Job Overview:
Provides excellence in customer service to Forest Highlands Golf Club Members and Guests. This position is supervising and engaging children of Members while they participate in various recreation activities/programs such as kids camps, teen/tween programs, Lawn Games, family events, and much more. The primary focus of the Recreation Activities Staff is to provide entertaining and safe games and activities for kids.
Essential Functions:
● Customer Service – Provide prompt, polite and professional service to the membership (customer).
o Assist members with recreation program and service information.
o Maintain a professional appearance by wearing the appropriate uniform at all times.
o Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe environment.
o Maintain a mature, professional, and service-oriented attitude toward members and guests.
● Operations – Conduct all activities in a mature and service-oriented manner to all Forest Highlands members.
o Register children for activities and maintain responsibility for those children until a parent or guardian picks them up.
o Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
o Use appropriate disciplinary measures when necessary.
o Use attention grabbers when dealing with small or large groups of kids.
o Communicate daily with parents/guardians via written and verbal means.
o Take every measure to ensure the safety of participants in activities.
o Drive children to on-site and off-site programs.
o Work closely with Food & Beverage (F&B) Team Members when placing food orders and serving children. Alert F&B of any food allergies when placing orders.
o Oversee children while swimming.
o Plan and participate in daily activities.
o Have a positive attitude when working with Members and children.
o Complete scheduled maintenance duties such as cleaning off the pool deck, moving items, cleaning off tennis, bocce, and cleaning up all parks; prepare, organize, and clean up activity sites, and making the whole club look aesthetically pleasing.
o Complete assigned “leader” camp days including planning sheets.
o Render emergency first aid and CPR according to prescribed procedures, and notify emergency medical personnel when necessary.
● Lessons – Awareness of safety and risk environment, complete any other tasks necessary to better serve the members of the club, and always practice good judgment when caring for children.
● Other – Attend monthly meetings and be able to complete other tasks as assigned within the Recreation Department as needed.

Minimum Requirements:
● Two years of High School or High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
● Current CPR/First Aid certification (opportunities to obtain these are available through Forest Highlands upon being hired).
● Background with kids, babysitting, Education etc.
● Clean background check.
● Basic knowledge of babysitting, country club, and golf course operations.
● Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
● Must be self-motivated with a positive and professional attitude.
● Organized, able to work in a busy environment where the priorities are changing.
● Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks during busy times while working flexible hours with an enthusiastic personality.
● Must be reliable.
Preferred Requirements:
● High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
● 1 to 3 years of related experience in a private club; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
● Ability to handle all safety and concerns with children.
● Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
● CPR/First Aid and AED certified.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with guests, management, vendors/suppliers, the general public and other employees of the Company.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform quick, frequent, and accurate headcounts with large groups of kids.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
● Position is in a busy golf/country club in a private residential community.
● Flexibility in schedule.
● Ability to lift up to 25lbs regularly; up to 50lbs occasionally and to lift overhead and push/pull.
● Must be able to frequently walk, sit, stand, bend, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear, stoop kneel, crouch, adjust vision accordingly (close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception).
● Exposed to outside weather conditions including low temperatures.
● Continuous ability to talk and hear.
● Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and far vision.
