Role: Director of Information Technology

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer

Position Summary: The Director of Information Technology is a senior-level management position responsible for leading and overseeing the technology infrastructure and strategy of the organization. This role is integral to ensuring that technology aligns with the organization’s goals and facilitates efficient operations, innovation, and growth. The Director of IT works collaboratively with executive leadership, department teams, and external partners to implement solutions and maintain robust systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Planning

• Develop and implement IT strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
• Identify emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on the organization.
• Prepare and manage the IT department's budget.
• Present IT strategies and initiatives to senior management and other stakeholders.

Technology Management

• Oversees the maintenance, security, and performance of IT systems, networks and software platforms.
• Ensure IT infrastructure supports organizational needs while remaining adaptable and scalable.
• Manage technology procurement, licensing, and vendor relationships.

Project Management

• Oversee IT project lifecycles, from initiation to execution and final evaluation.
• Establish timelines, budgets, and key performance indicators for projects.
• Ensure timely delivery of projects while adhering to quality standards.

Security and Compliance

• Ensure the organization's IT systems comply with industry standards and regulations.
• Implement and manage security protocols to protect against data breaches and cyber threats.
• Conduct regular system audits and vulnerability assessments.
• Provide training and awareness programs for staff on cybersecurity best practices.

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor the IT team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
• Manage the hiring, training, and evaluation of IT staff.
• Encourage continuous learning and professional development within the team.
• Set performance objectives and conduct regular performance reviews.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Educational Background:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CISSP) are a plus.

Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT management or a related field.
• Proven track record of successfully leading teams and managing complex systems.

Technical Expertise:

• In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.
• Proficiency in enterprise software solutions, database management, and development tools.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as cGMP, GDPR, PCI or ISO standards.
