Retail Inventory & Logistics Coordinator

Location: All 4 retail locations (48 Centre, 8 Washington, 77 Easton & 16 Ocean Ave) & Storage Units (5 Sun Island Rd)

Initial Term: May 1 – September 30

Pay Rate: $25-$30/hr depending on experience monthly $300 stipend for gas

Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and reliable Inventory & Logistics Coordinator to manage inventory flow across multiple retail locations on Nantucket. This role ensures that each store location is properly stocked every day, coordinating inventory movement between storage units, fulfillment locations, and retail stores.

This position requires strong Shopify proficiency, excellent communication with store teams, and the ability to move inventory efficiently across the island. The ideal candidate has their own vehicle, is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working independently while coordinating closely with managers and staff.

Core Responsibilities

Inventory Management

• Maintain accurate inventory levels across multiple retail locations using Shopify.
• Monitor inventory reports to identify stock gaps and proactively redistribute products between locations.
• Create and process inventory transfers within Shopify to reflect product movement between stores and storage.
• Ensure that each location has the correct inventory available before the start of each business day.

Inventory Movement & Logistics

• Transport inventory between storage units, fulfillment locations, and retail stores as needed.
• Conduct regular storage runs (typically every 1–2 days during peak season) to replenish store inventory.
• Physically organize storage units and maintain clear product organization for efficient access.
• Ensure all transferred inventory is accurately logged in Shopify.

Shipment Processing

• Receive and process incoming inventory shipments at the fulfillment location.
• Count, verify, and enter new inventory into Shopify.
• Distribute new inventory to appropriate locations based on store needs.

Store Team Coordination

• Communicate regularly with store managers and staff to understand inventory needs that may not be reflected in reports.
• Respond to urgent inventory needs throughout the day.
• Maintain a clear understanding of what products are selling quickly at each location.

Fulfillment Support

• Assist with online order fulfillment when needed during high-volume periods.
• Help pack and process e-commerce orders when in-store teams require additional support.

Schedule & Work Structure

• Flexible hours with the ability to structure work independently, estimated 15 hour/week
• Inventory must be properly stocked at all locations by 9:00 AM each day.
• Storage and inventory runs typically occur every 1–2 days during peak season.
• Additional hours may be available for shipment processing or high-volume fulfillment periods.
• Some inventory movement may occur outside standard store hours.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle
• Ability to lift and transport merchandise
• Proficiency in Shopify inventory management
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Excellent communication with store teams and management
• Comfortable driving between locations and storage units on Nantucket
