Dental Assistant – Periodontal Specialty Practice
Foothill Dental Specialty is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our boutique periodontal practice. Ideal for someone who enjoys structure, learning advanced dentistry, and working in a modern, technology-driven office.
Responsibilities
- Assist the periodontist during exams and procedures
- Take digital X-rays and CBCT images
- Work with scanners, digital workflows, surgical guides, and 3D printing
- Prepare, sterilize, and maintain instruments
- Chart accurately in Open Dental
- Take vitals, review medical histories, and complete documentation
- Prepare referral letters and educate patients on post-op care
- Manage inventory, OSHA tracking, and lab cases
- Maintain a clean, efficient operatory
- Assist front desk and answer phones as needed
- Follow established clinical protocols
Qualifications
- Registered Dental Assistant (RDA)
- 3 years of assisting experience
- Open Dental experience required
- Strong computer and typing skills
- Dependable, coachable, and patient-focused
Preferred (We Can Train):
Periodontal/surgical assisting and digital dentistry experience
