Title: Director of Construction

Salary: $200,000 - $230,000 bonus

Location: Boston, MA

Duration: Permanent

We are seeking an experienced Director of Construction to lead preconstruction and construction execution across a portfolio of retail, mixed-use, and adaptive reuse projects. This role oversees projects from feasibility and conceptual budgeting through construction completion and operational turnover.

The ideal candidate is a strategic, hands-on leader with strong commercial construction experience and the ability to manage complex projects, teams, and stakeholder relationships in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution of construction projects.
• Oversee preconstruction activities including conceptual estimating, constructability reviews, and risk management.
• Partner with Development, Leasing, Design, and Operations teams to evaluate project viability and tenant-driven scope changes.
• Manage Project Managers and construction teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Review and approve budgets, schedules, contracts, change orders, and requisitions.
• Coordinate with contractors, architects, engineers, municipalities, and tenants throughout project execution.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, safety requirements, and regulatory codes.
• Support project closeout and smooth transition to Operations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• 10 years of commercial construction experience, including leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, contracts, and construction operations.
• Experience managing multiple complex commercial projects simultaneously.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
