The Medical Front Desk Receptionist provides essential administrative support to the office, healthcare providers, and patients in a fast-paced medical practice. This role is responsible for a wide range of tasks, including patient service, appointment scheduling, data entry, electronic health record (EHR) management, and patient education.
Front Desk Receptionist Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
- Greet and check in patients, providing excellent customer service
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage calendars
- Register patients and update demographics and insurance information
- Verify insurance eligibility and collect copays or balances
- Maintain patient records through data entry, scanning, and documentation
- Support daily office operations and ensure smooth patient flow
Front Desk Receptionist Required Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1–2 years of customer service or front desk experience (medical preferred)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of insurance verification and medical terminology preferred
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office
Front Desk Receptionist Pay Range:
- $19 - $21/hr, based on experience
