What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Worker/Floater - Ferderbar Elementary Food Services position at Food Service?
The Neshaminy School District has an anticipated opening for a part-time Food Service General Worker/Floater at Ferderbar Elementary. This 4 hour positon is responsible for assisting in the preparation and serving of school lunches and for the daily cleaning of all cafeteria areas and equipment.
Please note this is a floater position that may require you to report to any food service position in the district.
QUALIFICATIONS 1. Must be able to read and write. 2. Must be flexible and able to perform various tasks. 3. Must be physically able to lift heavy objects and materials up to 50 pounds. 4. Strong human relations skills & be able to work in a team-based environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Listed below are typical duties performed by a General Worker; specific duties may vary among workers according to the daily workload.) 1. Assists cook in the preparation of foods as directed. 2. Assists in preparing, stocking & setting up serving lines for the lunch period. 3. Assists with the food serving lines during the lunch period and replenishes serving trays, food, and utensils throughout the shift. 4. Refills all food condiment containers. 5. Washes and scrapes dishes to prepare them for the dishwasher. Assists in the cleaning of pots and pans and other cafeteria utensils and equipment. 6. Follows daily & weekly cleaning charts. 7. Runs register as the cashier selling food and beverages. 8. Prepares foods such as salads, sandwiches and desserts. 9. Assists with food orders, deliveries, and receiving. 9. Performs other related duties as necessary for the orderly functioning of a school cafeteria during the meal periods as assigned by management. 10. Will fill in at other schools as needed, performing job tasks listed above.
