We’re recruiting for a Law Firm Billing Manager for a well-established legal organization in Tampa. This role is ideal for an experienced legal billing leader who can oversee billing and eBilling activity, support attorneys, manage a team, and help improve the accuracy and efficiency of the billing process.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who understands the pace, detail, and client service expectations of a law firm environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage and support a team of legal billing and eBilling professionals
- Oversee invoice preparation, review, submission, corrections, and follow-up
- Work with attorneys and leadership to resolve billing questions, unbilled time, and client billing issues
- Monitor eBilling submissions, rejections, appeals, and outside counsel guideline compliance
- Review billing reports, trends, write-downs, realization, and process bottlenecks
- Help improve billing procedures, workflows, training, and system usage
- Support special billing arrangements, client requirements, and alternative fee structures
- Maintain consistent billing standards while improving turnaround time and accuracy
Qualifications
- Law firm billing experience, including legal invoice review and client billing guidelines
- Experience leading, supervising, or mentoring billing team members
- Working knowledge of eBilling platforms and electronic invoice submission
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with billing data and reports
- Ability to communicate professionally with attorneys, finance leaders, clients, and internal teams
- Strong organization skills with the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but equivalent legal billing leadership experience will be considered
