Responsibilities
- Stock shelves efficiently by organizing products and ensuring accurate placement according to merchandising standards
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately for cash handling and transactions
- Greet customers warmly, providing friendly assistance and answering questions about products or store policies
- Conduct product demos when appropriate to highlight features and benefits to customers
- Upsell related items and promote ongoing sales or special offers to enhance the shopping experience
- Maintain store cleanliness, organize merchandise displays, and ensure aisles are clear for safety and accessibility
- Manage inventory levels through stocking, product rotation, and reporting low stock items for replenishment
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not required
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in bilingual settings is a plus
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and inventory management
- Familiarity with POS systems and cashiering procedures is advantageous
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to create positive interactions
- Supervising experience is beneficial for leadership opportunities within the team
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work in a fast-paced environment
