Duties
- Restock shelves with merchandise, ensuring products are organized and visually appealing through effective merchandising techniques
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process sales transactions, handle cash and card payments, and issue receipts
- Assist customers with product inquiries, product demos, and upselling opportunities to enhance their shopping experience
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area, ensuring efficient phone etiquette and communication with customers
- Support inventory management by stocking new shipments promptly and conducting regular stock checks
- Provide friendly customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring a positive store environment
- Supervise or assist in supervising team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operations
Requirements
- Prior experience with POS systems, cashiering, or retail sales is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills in both English and bilingual capabilities are a plus
- Demonstrated supervisory experience or leadership qualities preferred
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for cash handling and retail math tasks
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional phone etiquette
- Knowledge of grocery store operations, stocking procedures, and merchandising best practices is advantageous
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads as needed
